Skin and Hair Care Tips to Follow This Monsoon

We all get a feeling of satisfaction when we know that monsoon is approaching and that we no longer need to deal with the sweltering heat of summer. But with this relaxing feeling comes the problem of increase in humidity and unprepared drenching that can be dangerous for your skin and hair.

Here are some tips that can save your skin and hair during monsoons:

1. Use light, waterproof and non-comedogenic make-up:

Well, we understand that women love wearing makeup during any season but monsoon can cause your make up to wear off or clog your pores due to high humidity and end up resulting in acne. To avoid causing trouble to your skin, opt for lighter and waterproof and non comedogenic make up.

2. Protect your hair:

Your hair too is prone to fluctuating weather. Bad odour, itchy scalp and dandruff are common hair problems encountered during monsoons. Try and protect your hair from rain water and if this seems impossible, wash your hair with a mild shampoo when you reach home. This will not only protect the hair but also the scalp against adverse effects.

3. Cleansing:

During monsoons make sure you cleanse your skin regularly since dust particles tend to easily settle and cling onto your skin rendering it dry and can sometimes cause unwanted pimples.

4. Dont say no to sunscreen:

Only because it isn’t summer doesn’t mean you stop using sunscreen. Even if it isn’t sunny you need to put on your sunscreen that has good SPF since even little exposure to UV rays can destroy your skin. Pick a sunscreen that complies to your skin requirements during monsoons.

5. Exfoliate regularly:

To get a smooth and supple skin during monsoon it is necessary to get rid of dirt, debris and oil clogged in the pores. Exfoliating your skin regularly can save it from infection that dirt can cause to it and it also helps you get rid of the top dead skin layers which make your skin hair look dull.

6. Moisturize your skin:

Be kind to your skin in monsoons just like the other seasons. Moisturizers will be faithful companions to your skin during monsoons. Use lotions that contain natural fruit extracts and ingredients to provide a natural blush to the skin and also keep it from getting dry.

7. Hot water bath:

A hot water bath during monsoons is essential to extract all the excess oil that clogs up the pores during monsoons. The heat subsequently allows the pores to open and hence remove all the oil.
