You should not avoid workout during periods
Let’s be honest – periods are messy. Upset stomach, bloating, fatigue, cramps and headache during the monthly menstrual cycle can at times be too much to handle. All you want during that time of the month is to stay in your bed and enjoy a warm cup of coffee.
Most women skip physical activity during this time. But periods should not be an excuse to take a break from your workout routine. In fact, staying physically active may help to reduce the annoying symptoms of periods. Performing high-intensity exercises may become a little challenging, but there some other alternatives that you can consider trying for your own good.
The symptoms of periods start to appear a week in advance. Women tend to get more tired, irritable and find it really difficult to gather the strength to go to the gym. During this time you can slow down a little and rather than performing an intense cardio workout, opt for low-intensity exercises like Pilates or running.
